5 Ways to Boost Your Sales Team’s Productivity
As a sales leader or a business owner, it’s your duty to motivate your sales team. There are occasions your sales team can have a low disposition, and opportunities to make a sale can be more challenging to find. Consequently, it is going to lead to a decrease in productivity that may affect your revenue stream.
With this, how can you inspire your sales team to be on the top of their game?
5 Ways to Motivate Your Sales Team
There are lots of ways to motivate your sales team. It ultimately depends on your company’s core values and your leadership style. I’ve listed five pursuits that you could do to inspire action and drive better outcomes from your sales team.
1. Create a positive working environment.
Sit back for a moment and consider your workplace. Is it comfortable and inviting for your salespeople to do their jobs? Think about things like:
✅ Is the lighting good?
✅ How about the temperature?
✅ Are your employees comfortable at their own desks?
✅ Is your office pantry stocked with snacks and coffee to improve the energy of your team?
The work environment of your salespeople impacts their productivity. An office that is inviting will motivate them to go to work.
2. Share the big picture.
If your team understands that their work achievements impact the business, they become motivated. Buy-in is a driver of productivity as they know that they have the power to help the company achieve its goals. Your team will not be as motivated if they do not understand what the company is striving for.
With this, discuss your overarching company goals. Plus, keep them updated with the progress of accomplishing them. Timely progress updates rekindle their motivation and will reaffirm your team that they are making a difference.
3. Lead by example.
You ought to do more if you’d like your sales team to perform more. You need them to make more calls? You have to make more calls. You need them to perform better in social selling? It would help if you sparked the flame for social selling.
4. Support consistent career and personal growth.
The sales landscape is continuously evolving. For your team to keep up with these trends and changes, it’s ideal to invest in their career development.
Inspire your staff to be the salespeople that they could be. Educate them. Attend digital sales training together for skills improvement. When you invest in your salespeople, you’re also raising their retention, loyalty, and morale.
5. Help your salespeople take pride in their achievements.
With the hustle and bustle in sales, most salespeople tend to forget to celebrate their wins.
As a sales leader, it’s your job to praise your salespeople. Recognition is potent. It is a morale booster and will inspire them to work even harder.
Just a note. The pursuits mentioned above will not work if your salespeople do not fit your company’s core values. Therefore, make sure that your whole sales team is aligned with your company’s core values. Then, motivating them shouldn’t be hard.
